Sadie's 8th Birthday

Sadie's 8th Birthday was a very special birthday.  It was a "golden birthday" because she turned 8 on May the 8th.  And it was the year she could be baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints!  A very big event!

Her actual birth date landed on a school day so after school she was greeted with some balloons and hugs from family.  Then she went to her favorite event, gymnastics!  They even made sure to make it extra special for her at class that day.

When Sadie got home she was surprised with a present Daddy brought home.  Her first pet!  A snake later named Houdini!

We then celebrated with a yummy homemade cake and ice cream.

For her birthday party that weekend she invited some of her good friends over for a sleepover at our house.  Jason and Braden went to a Father and Son's campout and Mackenzie went to Nana's.  Sadie had an all girls night with Cat O'Conner, Kylie Johnson, Ryli Alvies, Kirsten Hanson, and Alexis Pells.  Shelby Urrutia came over to help me host and Callie was with us too.  We started the night out with each of the girls their own homemade personal pizzas.

After the girls finished their pizzas, they played some games together.  One game was version of hot potato.   The girls passed a toy around and when the music stopped if they were holding the toy they had to pick a fashion accessory out of a bag to wear.  After everything had been picked we did a fun fashion show of the girls wearing their silly outfits.

Callie even joined in!
Silly Accessory Fashion show!  Walking down the cat walk and posing for a picture!

And a dress up flash back picture of Sadie with her friend Ryli.....

All the fashionistas together!

The girls enjoyed assembling their own waffle cone ice cream sundaes instead of birthday cake and then Sadie opened her presents before they settled down with a movie and manicures.

It was a fun day and sleepover for Sadie and her friends.  They all got along so well.  What a good bunch of girls!
